In the 1997 film Switchback, Danny Glover portrays Bob Goodall, the main antagonist. Goodall is an affable drifter who picks up hitchhiker Lane Dixon (played by Jared Leto). However, Goodall is secretly a serial killer who has tricked the FBI into pinning his 18 murders on another man.

Goodall's Murders and Frank's Investigation

Goodall's murders have been the hallmarks of an elusive serial killer for nearly two years. Frank LaCrosse (played by Dennis Quaid) has been after Goodall for 18 months, but Goodall has always managed to stay one step ahead. As Frank searches for his suspect, the local Sheriff Buck Olmstead (played by Ted Levine) and his Deputy Nate Booker (played by William Fichtner) investigate the killings amidst a heated election campaign.
